About
Otto and Marie Pick emigrated from Czechoslovakia to Canada in 1938 with their infant son, Tom. Leaving behind family and everything familiar to them, they rallied to build a new life in a new country and established a small seed company, Otto Pick Agricultural Service.
The Pick family and the company suffered a profound loss in 1959 when Otto passed away unexpectedly. Once again, the family rallied in the face of adversity, and, under the new leadership of Marie, Tom, and his brother, Martin, that modest agricultural enterprise took root and grew into Pickseed, a global leader in the seed industry.
Tom Pick was a visionary and a deeply kind, community-minded man. Together with his wife, June, Tom volunteered his time and expertise to numerous causes within his community.
A steadfast champion of youth and those in need, Tom established a foundation to support and uplift others - as was so inherently his nature.
Today, his legacy of kindness and generosity continues through The Pick Family Foundation.
